Creating a Communication Channel #
Alerts are delivered through communication channels.
The platform supports the following communication channel types:
- Slack
To create a communication channel:
- Navigate to the Account page.
- In the sidebar, select Alerts.
- Click the Add Channel button.
- Complete the new channel form:
- Name – Enter a name for the channel.
- Type – Select the channel type. Provide the required information according to the selected channel type:
- Slack
- Provide the Webhook URL as described below.
- Slack
- Provide a list of email addresses.
- Alternatively, select Send alerts to all Admins to notify all administrators. New administrators will automatically be included.
5. Click Save.
Once created, the new channel will appear in the list of communication channels.
Note: It is recommended to test new communication channels to ensure they are configured correctly. Select an alert that uses the channel, or create a new alert, and send a test alert.
Integrating with Slack #
To create a Slack integration, follow the instructions provided in the Slack documentation to create a Slack app with an incoming webhook.
Once created, use the Webhook URL when configuring the communication channel.
Integration with PagerDuty #
To create a PagerDuty integration, follow the instructions provided in the PagerDuty documentation to create an Events API v2 integration for your PagerDuty service.
Once created, use the Integration URL (Alert Events) and Integration Key when configuring the communication channel.
Creating an Alert #
To create an alert:
- Navigate to the Account page.
- In the sidebar, select Alerts.
- Click the Add Alert button.
- Complete the new alert form:
- Name – Enter a name for the alert.
- Type – Select the alert type.
- Provide the required information according to the selected alert type.
- Communication – Select the communication channels to be used for the alert.
5. Click Save.
Once created, the new alert will appear in the list of alerts.
