The Flumotion Smart Multi CDN platform provides comprehensive statistics and analytics information.
The data displayed in the service dashboards is collected from two main sources:
- APIs provided by CDN providers.
- Log sampling.
The second data source is often automatically enabled when you deploy a CDN provider through the Flumotion Smart Multi CDN platform.
Log-Based Stats on CloudFront #
When using CloudFront as a CDN provider, log samples are retrieved through CloudFront Real-Time Logs and Kinesis.
To enable log-based statistics for your CloudFront services, follow the instructions in Setup a CloudFront Kinesis Stream.
This setup only needs to be performed once for each AWS account used with Flumotion Smart Multi CDN.
Data Incomplete Warning #
When accessing your service dashboard, you may see the following warning:
Caution: Data Incomplete
Some of the data displayed in the dashboards is retrieved from APIs, which provide aggregated, high-level metrics such as traffic volume, cache status, and error rates. Other data is derived from access logs.
This warning appears when log integration is not enabled for your service. Without log integration, only API-based metrics are available, which may cause some graphs or sections of the dashboard to display incomplete or missing data.
Integrating logs provides deeper visibility into your traffic and service activity.
