# Media Delivery Service Templates

**Flumotion Smart Multi CDN** provides service templates optimized for media delivery, including **Video-on-Demand (VOD)** and **live streaming**.

These templates can be selected when creating a new service and define caching behaviors for different media file types to help optimize playback and content delivery.

The behaviors configured by the templates can later be modified to meet your specific requirements and traffic structure.

#### VOD Streaming Template

This template creates a service optimized for **Video-on-Demand (VOD)**, with enhanced caching policies for manifests and similar files.

- **Default edge cache:** 30-minute TTL
- **Manifest files (`m3u8` and `mpd`):**
  - Edge cache set to a **2-second TTL**
  - Client (browser) cache disabled

#### Live Streaming Template

This template creates a service optimized for **live streaming**, with enhanced caching policies for manifests and similar files.

- **Default edge cache:** 30-minute TTL
- **Manifest files (`m3u8` and `mpd`):**
  - Edge cache set to a **2-second TTL**
  - Client (browser) cache disabled

#### Akamai-Specific Behavior

Services using these media delivery templates can only be deployed on **Akamai property groups that include the Media Delivery (MD) product**.
