# Creating a Read-Only API Token in Fastly

You can add your Fastly CDN to **Flumotion Smart Multi CDN** in **Read-Only** mode and use it for monitoring and traffic steering (you won’t be able to modify its configuration). To create a Read-Only API token, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your [Fastly account](https://manage.fastly.com/).
2. Navigate to **Account settings** by opening the user dropdown and selecting **Account**.
3. Select the **API Tokens** tab.
4. Click **Create Token**.
5. Fill out the new token form:

- **Name** – For example, `flumotion-smart-multicdn-api-token`.
- **Type** – Select **Automation** token.
- **Scope**
  - Check **Global API access**.
  - Check **Read-only access**.
- **Access** – Select **All services**.
- **Expiration** – Select **Never expire**.

6. Click **Create Token**.

Save the created token and provide it to the **Flumotion Smart Multi CDN support team** to add your Fastly CDN in **Read-Only** mode.
