# Behaviors Overview

**Flumotion Smart Multi CDN** allows you to customize the behavior of your traffic. You can define multiple behaviors within your Flumotion Smart Multi CDN service.

When you first create a service, a default behavior is automatically created. The default behavior applies to all traffic within the service and can be [customized](https://www.flumotion.com/docs/multiCDN/configuring-the-default-behavior/).

In addition to the default behavior, you can add more behaviors. Behaviors are applied to specific portions of the service traffic, identified by a path pattern. Each behavior can include multiple actions that are applied to the corresponding portion of traffic.

You can review the available types of actions [here](https://www.flumotion.com/docs/multiCDN/behavior-actions/).

### What is a Behavior?

A Behavior in **Flumotion Smart Multi CDN** is defined by:

- **A condition** – A path pattern that identifies the portion of traffic to which the behavior applies, for example, `/api/*`.
- **A list of**[**actions**](https://www.flumotion.com/docs/multiCDN/behavior-actions/) – The actions that will be applied to requests matching the condition.

### Prerequisites

Before adding a Behavior to your service, make sure you have the following:

- **Flumotion Smart Multi CDN Service** – You can follow [these steps](https://www.flumotion.com/docs/multiCDN/steps-for-creating-a-service/) to create a service.
