World's first event streamed
live using WebM
The GUADEC conference live streaming powered by Flumotion was officially the first event worldwide streamed live using the new open WebM format. Within 48 hours of the WebM release the development team at Flumotion integrated the new WebM format into its multi-format streaming technology and created the first live WebM streaming worldwide.
Now, only 8 weeks later, Flumotion was live streaming GUADEC 2010 from encoding to delivery, in the new WebM file format, which was released by Google for open source use last May.
We will soon be streaming the GUADEC lectures on demand on our site. Thanks to the success of the event, Flumotion was nominated in 2 categories at the Streaming Media's Readers' Choice Awards:
