A way to exploit your streams to the maximum. Flumotion’s Live Recording service allows you to define the programs you would like to record while they are being broadcasted live. Once the program is over, the platform automatically saves the file, which is then available either as on-demand content or through podcasting.
Here's how it works: clients have access to the tool which allows them to configure their programming grid. They can use it to decide which programs they want to record and what time they start and end, as well as the name each file will be stored with on the platform for later use. With this information from the client the Flumotion streaming platform will now be able to perform the recording. The files generated will be saved in a directory known to the client, who is completely free to decide what the content will be used for.
This way clients have a tool at their disposal that offers them maximum flexibility when choosing the content they want to record and also how they will make this content available to their users. This system allows the client to introduce any needed changes both the start and end times as well as to the name of the program.
