Last month 15,000 people packed into El Palacio de Deportes in Madrid to see to artists such as Alejandro Sanz perform live for La Noche de Cadena 100. The event helped raise funds for victims of the devastating earthquake that shook Haiti earlier this year. The concert was a huge success and sold out in under a month, so good job Flumotion streamed the concert live, making sure everybody who couldn’t get a ticket was still able to watch the event online.
Thousands more fans followed the event through social media websites and through a specially developed Flumotion player that was synced with Facebook Connect, allowing viewers to access exclusive content and watch the show from multiple angles. For users who missed the live stream, the concert is now available on demand via Cadena 100’s official YouTube channel.
Apart from being a hugely successful fundraising event, the concert set a technological milestone for Flumotion, becoming the first major event streamed live to the iPad in Spain. It was also available on a number of other mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android.

El mes pasado 15.000 personas se abarrotaron en el Palacio de Deportes de Madrid para ver a artistas como Alejandro Sanz actuar en directo para La Noche de Cadena 100. El evento ayudó a recaudar fondos para las víctimas del devastador terremoto que sacudió Haití recientemente este año. El concierto tuvo un éxito enorme y agotó entradas en menos de un mes, así que suerte de Flumotion que retransmitió el concierto en directo, asegurando que todos quienes no pudieron comprar entradas tuvieran la oportunidad de ver el evento online.
Miles de fans más siguieron el evento a través de las páginas web sociales y a través de un reproductor expresamente desarrollado por Flumotion que estaba sincronizado con Facebook Connect, permitiendo a los usuarios acceder a contenido exclusivo y ver el espectáculo desde múltiples ángulos. Para los usuarios que se perdieron la transmisión en directo, el concierto está ya disponible bajo demanda vía el canal oficial de Cadena 100 en YouTube.
Además de ser un evento recaudatorio satisfactorio, el concierto fija un hito para Flumotion, llegando a ser el primer gran evento retransmitido en directo para iPad en España. Estaba también disponible para otros dispositivos móviles cómo iPhone y Android.

Last month we successfully streamed Noche de Cadena 100 live to the iPad, the first ever event streamed live to the first time in Spain. The concert helped raise a huge amount of money and support for the victims of the earthquake that shook Haiti earlier this year. Over 14,000 tickets were sold in under a month, which confirms a great success for of the vent as a major fundraiser.
