GStreamer Conference 2010

This year’s one day GSstreamer Conference kicked off today in Cambridge, UK, taking place one day before CE Linux Europe. The conference focuses on GSstreamer and related technology, featuring speakers from a wide range of companies and fields. The talks hosted will cover a range of technologies built around GStreamer aimed at embedded, desktop and server usage. There will also be a presentation on the plans for the GStreamer 1.0 release.

Zaheer Merali, Tandberg/Cisco senior software engineer and long standing GStreamer developer, will be giving a talk on Flumotion Streaming Server. Zaheer worked at Flumotion for 4 1/2 years where he heavily influenced the design and code of the open source Flumotion Streaming Server. He will discuss how Flumotion distributes GStreamer pipelines across processes and how Flumotion tries to ensure sync between different processes doing for example capture that could even be on different machines. He will also look at how Flumotion streams to the end user client, adminning a Flumotion streaming server and finally how to create your own Flumotion component.
