Flumotion First in Spain to Stream Major Event Live to iPad

Flumotion will stream La Noche de Cadena 100

Last month 15,000 people packed into El Palacio de Deportes in Madrid to see to artists such as Alejandro Sanz perform live for La Noche de Cadena 100. The event helped raise funds for victims of the devastating earthquake that shook Haiti earlier this year. The concert was a huge success and sold out in under a month, so good job Flumotion streamed the concert live, making sure everybody who couldn’t get a ticket was still able to watch the event online.

Thousands more fans followed the event through social media websites and through a specially developed Flumotion player that was synced with Facebook Connect, allowing viewers to access exclusive content and watch the show from multiple angles. Flumotion to Stream ‘Noche de Cadena 100’ Live to iPhone

Flumotion will stream La Noche de Cadena 100

This Saturday, April 24, Flumotion technology will be used to stream Noche de Cadena 100 live from los Deportes in Madrid, a music event with the aim to help raise money for earthquake victims in Haiti. Cadena 100 will donate profits from ticket sales to non government organisations who have been providing aid and relief efforts in Haiti since January.

“We want to create awareness for this cause and reach as many people as possible, which is why we offer our technology and web streaming to iPhone for non-profit.” said Jean-Noël Saunier, CEO and co-founder of Flumotion. Last year we successfully streamed the live event via the Flumotion Streaming Platform recording over 75,000 sessions. This year’s concert is set to be even bigger with over 120,000 fans on Facebook standing by and ready to follow the live stream and interact with other viewers via Facebook Connect. Flumotion Streaming Software selected as one of the top 10 technologies of 2010

Flumotion Streaming Software has been included in this year’s Streaming Media Editor’s Pick – an award  selected from the most notable products and services of the last year in the world of online video. Flumotion’s Streaming technology joins the likes of last year’s winners, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, Adobe Creative suite and VP8 codec of On2 Technologies, a company acquired by Google in August of last year.

Streaming Media Editor, Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen compiled the list and commented that, “The winners indicate not only the technological advances that were made over the past 12 months or so, but also the growth of online video in the mainstream.” The win acknowledges our hard work that has enabled us to make streaming more accessible and complements our  inclusion in the Streaming Media Europe Dream Team list for 2010 and  Best Streaming Innovation award from last year’s Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Awards.
