The Current State Of HTML5 Video

LongTail Video State of HTML5 Video  went through six key factors on how HTML5 Video is doing presently to give the industry an overhead look at how things are progressing or not. For example, Internet Explorer 6-8 have no HTML5 support and still account for 28% of the market. Chrome and Firefox do have HTML5 support obviously and account for 47% of the market thankfully. With that large portion of the market, total 32%, not supporting HTML5, Flash is still extremely relevant as a provider of web-based video.

ONTSI figures reveal that 90% of people in Spain consume digital content

At the recent International Digital Content Forum 2011 (FICOD) the National Telecommunications and Information Society Observatory (ONTSI) disclosed its annual report on digital content in Spain for 2010 and 2011, which reflected Spain’s developing use of the digital platform. The report highlighted that Spain’s digital content industry has amounted to 9.1 billion Euros in 2010, which is a 14.1% increase from 2009. There has been a 44% increase in the audiovisual subdivision total profits from 2010. This could be indicative of direct terrestrial TV (DTT), which enhanced digitalization of the audiovisual area by 90.8%. Continue Reading…
